of Excellence!
From Humble Beginnings to Global Acclaim
Rios Interiors was established in 1999 in Dallas, Texas by Natividad Rios who emigrated from Mexico to start a new life here and pursue his plan of building his own furniture design business. After moving to Dallas, Rios found work at an interior design firm, Martinek Design Studios, and began studying the custom furniture industry while earning his business degree from Brookhaven College.
“That’s where I was introduced to the aesthetics of design,” he said. “After working there eight years or so, I knew that this is what I wanted to do… I knew I could do my own style. I’m from Mexico and I knew there was a need for this style in the US.”
The native of Guanajuato realized his entrepreneurial ambition in ‘99 when he opened Rios Interiors in a small space he rented at the Dallas Farmers Market.
“Nobody believed I could sell a piece of furniture at the Dallas Farmers Market, but I did to everybody’s surprise. I was not surprised because I knew I had a good product. I had faith that I could sell it and knew there was a market for it,” Rios said.
In December 2007, Rios took another calculated risk and moved his operations to the Fort Worth Stockyards, where it has operated for the past 17 years, located directly across the street from Cattleman’s Steakhouse and next to M. L. Leddy’s Boots.
